For those who love mountain biking, Elba is a true paradise: the mild climate allows you to practise this sport all year round, on many different types of routes and suitable for all levels.

But it is the beauty of the island and its morphology that make Elba the perfect place for a mountain bike holiday. In only a few kilometres you can cycle along natural, untouched beaches, or along ridges with breathtaking panoramas, or across paths in the woods; you can stop to visit ancient ruins and linger in the most charming places amongst historical remains, and refresh yourself at natural springs.

You can choose from steep, uphill roads across vegetation that changes as quickly as the surrounding countryside, or along quiet tracks in the woods; you can free ride down towards the sea surrounded by inebriating perfumes and colours, then take a regenerating break to admire the view that changes with every bend.

There are mountain bike routes for all tastes and all levels: from the heights of the granite peaks of Mount Capanne with their mountain side flora and fauna, and from where at a height of more than 1,000 metres you can see the whole Tuscan Archipelago. From here you can follow the equally spectacular routes that wind round the interior part of the mineral park on the western side of Elba on one side, and on the other, reddish, multi coloured or iridescent sand, shining and shimmering thanks to the presence of iron minerals; two contrasting worlds barely a dozen kilometers apart, both equally enchanting. And between these two peaks an infinite number of mountain bike routes to choose from.
